Our Favorite Banana Bread Recipe

Some of my favorite cold weather recipes to make are various spiced breads-- pumpkin, zucchini, cranberry-orange, and of course the classic banana bread.  This recipe is so easy and delicious and will fill your house with the sweetest aromas.  You can omit the nuts and chocolate chips if you want, but I personally love the depth of flavor and texture they bring.

🍌Banana Bread🍌

1 c sugar

1/2 c butter, melted

2 eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 1/2 c flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 c sour cream

1/4 c chopped pecans

1/4 c chocolate chips

2 medium bananas, sliced

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan.

Stir sugar and melted butter together in a large bowl. Add eggs and vanilla; mix well. Combine flour, baking soda, and salt; stir into butter mixture until smooth. Fold in banana slices, sour cream, pecans and chocolate chips; transfer into the prepared pan.

Bake in the preheated oven until a knife inserted into the center of the loaf comes out clean, around 1 hour / 1 hour 10 min. Cool loaf in the pan for 10 minutes before inverting onto a wire rack to cool completely. Enjoy with a decadent pat of butter !
