Handwoven vintage Persian rug

Handwoven wool low pile Persian rug. Measures 6'1"x3'9". Features a central medallion and a double border with tree of life motifs. This rug has muted abrash terracotta field with pops of deep indigo and reds. The rug is in good vintage condition.

Abrash in a rug refers to natural color variations within the wool that occur as a result of dyeing the wool in small batches or due to the differences in dye absorption over time. Often found in handmade rugs, abrash creates a beautiful, organic effect where different parts of the rug subtly shift in shade.

The Tree of Life motif represents the interconnectedness of life, growth, and resilience, with roots reaching deep into the earth and branches extending toward the heavens. In rugs and textiles, the Tree of Life is often depicted with elaborate branches, leaves, and flowers, symbolizing the journey of the soul, renewal, and abundance.
