Handwoven vintage Persian rug

Handwoven wool low pile Persian rug. Measures 6’8”x4’1”. Features a central medallion with tribal evil eye and water motifs. This rug has an abrash terra cotta red field with pops of blue sage, indigos, and turmeric. The rug is in good vintage condition.

Tribal evil eye motifs are ancient protective symbols woven into Persian and other regional textiles to ward off negativity, envy, and bad luck. Recognizable by their bold geometric “eye” shapes, these designs reflect centuries of folklore across the Middle East and Mediterranean.
