Handwoven vintage Persian rug
Handwoven wool low pile Persian rug. Measures 8’4”x4’7”. Features a crimson field and a variety of floral and boteh motifs. This rug has pops of marigold, indigo, pink and teal woven throughout. The rug is in good vintage condition.
The boteh motif has ancient origins, believed to have originated in Persia (modern-day Iran) several centuries ago. The word "boteh" itself means "bush" or "shrub" in Persian, reflecting the motif's resemblance to a curved, teardrop-shaped floral element. Boteh motifs are highly symbolic and versatile. They can represent a variety of concepts, including fertility, life, eternity, and abundance.
Please note that we do our very best to honestly depict our products.
