Vintage handwoven vegetable dyed wool rug. This is likely a Kurdish rug, a type of handwoven textile originating from the Kurdistan region, which spans across parts of Iran, Turkey, Iraq, and Syria. These rugs are highly regarded for their distinctive designs, quality craftsmanship, and cultural significance. This rug features three central medallions woven in cream and bright pink on a field of chartreuse. It has a unique color variation and shows many floral and animal motifs woven throughout. The floral motifs are a symbol of life, fertility, and abundance. The border of the rug shows a continuous floral pattern. In good vintage condition.
