Vintage Persian Rug
Handwoven wool low pile rug. Features a central medallion woven in red terracotta tones. There are hints of mossy green, lavender, and deep charcoal. Shows a tree of life and boteh motifs throughout. In some cases, these motifs may symbolize nature, fertility, growth, or beauty. Shows abrash. "Abrash" is a term used in the world of rugs and carpet weaving to describe a deliberate variation or irregularity in the color of the pile. It often appears as subtle striations or bands of slightly different shades within the same color area of a rug. This effect can occur naturally due to variations in the dye lots of the wool or silk used in the weaving process, or it can be intentionally created by the weaver to add depth and character to the rug. This rug is in good vintage condition.
