Handwoven vintage Persian rug

Handwoven wool low pile Persian rug. Measures 5’2”x4’9”. Features a kheshti mosaic pattern with geometric tribal patterns and a triple border. This rug has a range of colors with primarily pinks, purples and indigos and pops of marigold and cream. The rug is in good vintage condition.

The wave border typically features a repeating wave-like or scalloped pattern that runs along the edges of the rug. This design can be stylized in various ways, ranging from subtle, gentle curves to more pronounced, dramatic waves. Water and waves often symbolize life, renewal, and continuity. In Persian culture, they can represent the flow of time and the cyclical nature of existence. The wave border can also signify protection, as it forms a boundary around the central motifs of the rug.
