Handwoven vintage Persian rug
Handwoven wool low pile Persian rug. Measures 6’11”x3’11”. Features three central medallions with boteh and fertility motifs. This rug has a rich abrash terracotta field with pops of deep indigo. The rug is in good vintage condition.
The boteh motif, often referred to as the "seed of life," is a timeless design element found in Persian rugs and textiles. Shaped like a teardrop or paisley, the boteh symbolizes growth, fertility, and eternal life. This ancient motif is deeply rooted in Persian and Central Asian art, frequently used in patterns to tell cultural and spiritual stories. Its elegant, swirling form reflects both nature's beauty and the enduring craftsmanship of traditional weavers.
Please note that we do our very best to honestly depict our products. Photos are taken in natural light, which differs depending on rooms and time of day. Our Persian collection of rugs are vintage, handmade one-of-a-kind pieces thus it is not uncommon for variations in wear, color, and dimensions.
