Plumeria Persian Runner
**Please note all sales are final.**
Vintage handwoven wool rug. Features a central repeating pattern in fuscia and cacao. A water border in Persian rugs is a distinctive type of border design that incorporates flowing and curvilinear motifs resembling water or waves. This particular border style is often found in rugs from specific Persian rug-producing regions, particularly Isfahan and Tabriz. The variegations in this rug are called “abrash.” They are discrepencies in color, particularly found in antique rugs. It is evidence that the rug was dyed with vegetable dyes because it is so difficult to create two identical shades of the same color. In good vintage condition.
