Handwoven vintage Turkish rug

Handwoven wool low pile Turkish Melis rug. Measures 3’11”x 5’11”. Features two large central medallions with a variety of floral and figurative animal motifs. This rug has a gorgeous deep palette of pomegranate, indigo and brown. The rug is in good vintage condition.

Floral motifs symbolize eternity, rebirth, and the divine beauty of nature. Inspired by the lush gardens of ancient Persia—believed to be earthly reflections of paradise—these designs bring timeless meaning and elegance to every rug. Figural animal motifs symbolize prosperity, protection, strength, and harmony with nature.
