Handwoven vintage Persian rug

Handwoven wool low pile Persian runner rug. Measures 11’10”x2’3”. Features five central medallions with fertility motifs. This rug has a faded charcoal abrash field with pops of soft terracottas. The rug is in good vintage condition.

Abrash refers to the natural and often subtle variations in color seen in handmade rugs, especially vintage and antique Persian, Oriental, or tribal rugs. These color changes occur due to differences in dye lots used during the rug's creation. Since traditional rugs are hand-dyed using natural ingredients, each batch of dye can vary slightly, resulting in shifts in tone or intensity within the same rug.
