Vintage handwoven wool rug. Features a central pattern in deep indigo and soft purples with a terracotta field. Show small floral and evil eye motifs. The variegations in this rug are called “abrash.” They are discrepencies in color, particularly found in antique rugs. It is evidence that the rug was dyed with vegetable dyes because it is so difficult to create two identical shades of the same color. In good vintage condition, shows some wear.
