Handwoven vintage Persian rug

Handwoven wool low pile Persian rug. Measures 5’5”x6’5”. Features a repeating mosaic kheshti pattern with fertility motifs and a geometric border. This rug has a muted palette of terracotta, sage, and maroon. The rug is in good vintage condition.

In vintage Persian and tribal rugs, geometric borders symbolize protection, order, and continuity. Acting as a visual frame, the border is believed to guard the central field—creating a boundary between the outside world and the inner space of the rug.
